Tips: "Baksheesh"! A word you'll soon get to know! While it's easy to say no to solicitors, it's part of the customs and rewards work and service well done. Gratuities for guides are never included. It is left to the discretion of each individual.

In the souks and markets, haggling is common practice. It is part of the experience and can be fun, but it is important to remain respectful and friendly during this interaction.

Egypt is predominantly Muslim. Visitors should respect places of worship, removing their shoes before entering a mosque and avoiding taking photographs where prohibited.

Time difference
